Abstract:
Provided is an inexpensive electroacoustic transducer that has a wide directivity over wide frequency bands from bass to treble with one speaker unit and that has substantially a single directivity irrespective of whether the speaker unit is in a vertical position or in a horizontal position. The electroacoustic transducer comprises: a vibration body 1 having two pairs of longitudinally-divided tubular surfaces 5; a conversion section for converting vibration of the vibration body 1 to an electrical signal corresponding to the vibration; and a support for supporting the vibration body 1 in such a manner as to be movable in the vibration direction. In each pair of longitudinally-divided tubular surfaces 5 of vibration body 1, a trough 6 is formed by lateral sides of the pair of longitudinally-divided tubular surfaces 5, and a ridge 12 is formed by other lateral sides of a different pair of the longitudinally-divided tubular surfaces 5. The two pairs of longitudinally-divided tubular surfaces 5 are arranged such that at least either the troughs 6 or the ridges 12 are perpendicular to each other.
