Title:
ELECTROACTIVE POLYMER AND MATERIAL BASED THEREON
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/076289
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to electric engineering and can be used for producing a converter for converting an internal action into electric signal: strain-gauge elements, pressure sensors and button switches in the form of electric signal switching elements. The aim of said invention is to develop a electroactive polymer material exhibiting a high sensitivity to the electrocunductivity of the external actions, for example to a pressure, etc within a wide range of polymer film thicknesses and a high reproducibility of useful properties. The inventive electroactive polymer whose electrical activity depends on the action of external physical fields comprises molecular fragments having a high polarizability and/or a bistable electronic energy structure with respect to an excess electron capture process. Said molecular fragments are bound therebetween through the intermediate elements of a molecular chain. The electroactive molecular fragments form a single macromolecular structure chemically bound through the molecular chains. The material based on said electroactive polymer is embodied in the form of films or fibres or coatings or bodies of rotation. At least one geometrical size defining a material form is equal or less than the double penetration depth of a surface charge.
