Abstract:
An electrochemical corrosion method capable of accurately and clearly displaying a nano second phase in a zirconium alloy, which achieves the purpose of observing and counting the second phase in the zirconium alloy under a scanning electron microscope. The method uses a special electrochemical corrosive agent in which a zirconium alloy sample acts as an anode and a stainless steel sheet acts as a cathode. Liquid nitrogen is used for temperature reduction and then electrochemical corrosion is performed. Finally, a second phase may be observed under a scanning electron microscope. The present method is simple to operate, and may accurately, quickly and clearly display the morphological features, size and distribution features of the nano-sized second phase in the zirconium alloy, which thus solves the problems in existing TEM technology of complicated sample preparation, difficult operation and limited observation in the research of the nano second phase of zirconium alloy.
