Abstract:
This electrochemical device system is provided with an electrochemical device and a control unit (7). The electrochemical device comprises: a negative electrode (21) that is capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions; a positive electrode (20) that contains oxygen as a positive electrode active material and reduces the oxygen during the discharge; and a solid electrolyte (22) that is interposed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, and is capable of conducting lithium ions. The control unit controls the electric current during the discharge of the electrochemical device. At the positive electrode, a reaction product based on oxygen and lithium ions is produced during the discharge, while the reaction product is decomposed into oxygen and lithium ions during the charge. A plurality of kinds of reaction products are able to be produced in accordance with the discharge voltages; and the plurality of kinds of reaction products have different charge voltages. The control unit controls the electric current so that the discharge voltage is equal to a specific voltage that is produced by a reaction product which has a lower charge voltage than the other reaction products among the plurality of kinds of reaction products.
