Abstract:
Provided is an electrode caulking device capable of mounting electrodes (2)
apart from each other at a predetermined distance on a shape-memory alloy wire
(1) which is heated to be restored to an original shape. A roundup caulking device
(101) includes: a load mechanism (20) for applying a predetermined tension of
the axial direction to the shape-memory alloy wire (1); a pair of support units
(4) for supporting the shape-memory alloy wire (1) at two positions arranged
apart from each other at a predetermined distance in the axial direction and having
a caulking unit; a pair of electric connection contact units (5) which are in contact
with the shape-memory alloy wire (1) at two positions sandwiching the pair of
support units (4) for making electric connection between the two contact points;
and a pair of pressing units (6) for plastically deforming the caulking portion
of the electrodes (2) held by the support units (4) so as to caulking-fix the electrodes
(2) to the shape-memory alloy wire (1).
