Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for producing an electrode for electrochemical capacitors which comprises a first process (steps S1-S3) for forming a polarizable electrode layer on a collector, a second process (step S4) for embossing the surface of the polarizable electrode layer formed on the collector, and a third process (step S5) for planarizing the embossed surface of the polarizable electrode layer. Since the surface of the polarizable electrode layer is embossed, the polarizable electrode layer can be effectively compressed, thereby achieving a high volume capacity of not less than 17 F/cm³. Furthermore, since the surface is planarized after embossing, porous particles contained in the polarizable electrode layer are prevented from dropping off from the layer, thereby securing high reliability.
