Abstract:
Provided are: an electrode for a gas sensor, which is a porous electrode that is stably reduced in the electrode resistance and exhibits excellent low-temperature activity; and a gas sensor. Electrodes (108, 110) for a gas sensor, which are provided on the surface of a solid electrolyte body (109) that is mainly formed of zirconia. The electrodes (108, 110) for a gas sensor are composed of particles (2) of a noble metal or an alloy thereof, first ceramic particles (4) that are formed of stabilized zirconia or partially stabilized zirconia, and second ceramic particles (6) that are formed of one or more substances selected from the group consisting of Al2O3, MgO, La2O3, spinel, zircon, mullite and cordierite. The content of the second ceramic particles is lower than the content of the first ceramic particles.
