Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an electrode which is used in a liquid permeation device that is reduced in the liquid permeation resistance, while having enhanced utilization efficiency of the surfaces of carbon fibers; and a redox flow battery which exhibits excellent charge and discharge performance by using this electrode that is used in a liquid permeation device. The present invention is an electrode which is used in a liquid permeation device, and which is obtained by laminating a plurality of carbon fiber nonwoven fabrics that have a relief structure in the surface, or that alternatively have through holes, while having a plurality of voids inside, said voids not opening in the thickness direction and being formed by recesses in the relief structure or by the through holes.
