Abstract:
The present invention provides an electrodeless lighting device and a method for operating the same. The electrodeless lighting device comprises: a direct current (DC) voltage unit for rectifying a commercial alternate current (AC) voltage and compensating for a power factor; a first inverter for receiving an output voltage of the DC voltage unit and transforming the received output voltage into a first AC voltage; a high-voltage generation unit for providing a DC driving voltage by boosting the first AC voltage of the first inverter to a high voltage; a high-voltage ripple cancellation unit for cancelling ripples from the DC driving voltage of the high-voltage generation unit and providing the ripple-cancelled DC driving voltage to a magnetron; a second inverter for receiving the output voltage of the DC voltage unit and transforming the received output voltage into a second AC voltage; a filament current generation unit for providing a filament current to a filament mounted in the magnetron by transforming the second AC voltage of the second inverter; the magnetron for receiving the DC driving voltage and the filament current and generating a ultrahigh frequency; a waveguide connected to the magnetron to guide the ultrahigh frequency; an electrodeless lamp connected to the waveguide; and a control unit for controlling the DC voltage unit, the first inverter and the second inverter.
