Abstract:
An EL element in which troubles due to a gap at the boundary of respective layers or uneven film thickness caused by liquid repellent treatment are prevented. The EL element characterized by comprising a substrate having at least a first electrode layer, an insulating layer formed to cover the edge part of the first electrode layer, a liquid repellent part provided on the upper surface of the insulating layer, a light emitting layer patterned on the first electrode layer, and a second electrode layer formed on the light emitting layer.
