Abstract:
Provided is an electrolysis cell with which it is possible to: raise the consumption efficiency of an electrode by furthermore effectively using the reverse surface of the electrode as well, and prevent reductions in the electrolysis efficiency caused by through-passing, etc., due to the flow of solution being uniform, without producing variations in the degree of wear of a film on the obverse surface; and furthermore address reductions in the current density when a sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution is diluted in order to prevent degradation. This electrolysis cell 1 has a plurality of electrode plates 2 having substantially circular electrode parts 3, and a plurality of electrode plate support bodies 3 supporting the electrode plates 2. Through-holes 6 of which the central axis is along a horizontal direction are provided in the electrode plate support bodies 5 in a cylindrical shape that has a cross section having substantially the same shape as the electrode parts 3. The electrode plates 2 and the electrode plate support bodies 5 are horizontally disposed in an alternating manner such that the electrode plates 2 are sandwiched by the electrode plate support bodies 5, whereby an electrolysis chamber 7 is configured from the through-holes 6 in the electrode plate support bodies 5 and the electrode plates 2 that are sandwiched from both sides. A raw-material supply hole 9 is provided in the lower part of a side wall of the through-holes 6, and a product discharge hole 10 is provided in the upper part of the side wall of the through-holes 6.
