Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electrolyte composition for a dye-sensitized solar cell, and a dye-sensitized solar cell comprising the electrolyte composition and, more specifically, to an electrolyte composition for a dye-sensitized solar cell and a dye-sensitized solar cell comprising the electrolyte composition, wherein the electrolyte composition to be applied to a dye-sensitized solar cell comprises: a window made of a material through which sunlight can penetrate; a photoelectrode formed on one surface of the window and comprising a nanometal oxide having a photosensitive dye adsorbed thereon; a counter electrode spaced from and facing the photoelectrode; a liquid electrolyte composition filled between the photoelectrode and the counter electrode; and iodine and nickel nanoparticles. The present invention mixes nickel nanoparticles, which show strong durability against an iodine electrolyte while showing a surface plasmon resonance phenomenon, with an electrolyte so as to prepare and use the same in the form of an electrolyte composition, and thus a preparation process is simple and the efficiency of a dye-sensitized solar cell can be greatly improved even without changing the structure of a conventional dye-sensitized solar cell or without using a complex preparation process.
