Title:
ELECTROLYTE COMPOSITION FOR HYBRID LITHIUM REDOX FLOW BATTERY, HAVING IMPROVED IONIC CONDUCTIVITY AND COMPRISING ESTER GROUP-SUBSTITUTED IONIC LIQUID
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/204286
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention is an electrolyte composition for a hybrid lithium redox flow battery, having improved ionic conductivity and comprising an ester group-substituted ionic liquid. An electrolyte composition according to the present invention improves ionic conductivity by comprising both TEMPO or acetamido-TEMPO and an ionic liquid substituted with a specific ester group, thereby enabling a hybrid lithium redox flow battery having a high energy density to be implemented. A hybrid lithium redox flow battery including an electrolyte composition, according to the present invention, can have a discharge voltage and an energy density that are higher than those of a conventional hybrid lithium redox flow battery so as to have high utility as a large-scale energy storage device with high output and high durability, and ensures long-term charge/discharge stability so as to have excellent battery life characteristics.
