Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electrolyte for secondary batteries which is safe in terms of ignition risk, and with which excellent battery characteristics can be achieved. [Solution] This electrolyte for secondary batteries which exhibits fire-extinguishing properties is characterized by including a nonaqueous solvent and an alkali metal salt, and characterized in that: the amount of the nonaqueous solvent is 4 mol or lower per 1 mol of the alkali metal salt; and the flash point is not in a temperature range lower than the boiling point of the electrolyte.
