Abstract:
This invention is an electrolytic capacitor life determination device (20) for determining the life of an electrolytic capacitor connected between a motor (3) and a single-phase or three-phase AC power supply (2) of a motor drive device (1) comprising a voltage detection unit (15) for measuring a DC voltage used for drive control of the motor (3). This electrolytic capacitor life determination device (20) comprises a current detection unit (21) for measuring a ripple current flowing through the electrolytic capacitor and a diagnosis unit (22) for determining the remaining life of the electrolytic capacitor using actually measured ripple current values that are the ripple current values measured by the current detection unit (21) and actually measured DC voltage values that are the DC voltage values measured by the voltage detection unit (15).
