Abstract:
This electrolytic device comprises: an electrolytic cell; an ion-exchange membrane that demarcates the electrolytic cell into a cathode chamber and an anode chamber; a catholyte supply unit that supplies an electrolyte serving as a catholyte to the cathode chamber; a catholyte discharge unit that discharges the catholyte from the cathode chamber; an anolyte supply unit that supplies an electrolyte serving as an anolyte to the anode chamber; an anolyte discharge unit that discharges the anolyte from the anode chamber; a cathode provided on a surface on the cathode chamber side of the ion exchange membrane; an anode provided on a surface on the anode chamber side of the ion exchange membrane; a cathode-side power supply that is provided within the cathode chamber and that supplies power to the cathode; and an anode-side power supply that is provided within the anode chamber and that supplies power to the anode. The pH of the catholyte is less than the pH of the anolyte.
