Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electrolytic solution with which the energy efficiency of a lithium air battery is improved, and a lithium air battery in which the electrolytic solution is used. [Solution] This electrolytic solution for a lithium air battery contains sulfolane and lithium nitrate. The concentration of lithium nitrate in the sulfolane satisfies the range of above 1.5 mol/L up to 2.5 mol/L, preferably the range of 1.8 to 2.2 mol/L (inclusive), and further preferably the range of 1.95 to 2.05 mol/L (inclusive). This lithium air battery is provided with an air electrode, a negative electrode provided with lithium metal, and an electrolytic solution located between the air electrode and the negative electrode, the electrolytic solution being the electrolytic solution described above.
