Abstract:
A box-type electrolytic vessel (1) comprises an electrolyte cooling chamber (11a) on at least either the electrolyte flow-in side or the flow-out side of a plurality of multi-electrode type unit electrolytic vessels (2a - 2f) arranged in parallel in the horizontal direction; an over-flow plate (10a) which permits the electrolyte to flow over the upper portions of the unit electrolytic vessels on the outlet side thereof; an electrolyte passage (18) through which the electrolyte flows into the lower portions of the unit electrolytic vessels on the inlet side of the unit electrolytic vessels; and upper space (19) formed over the electrolyte level to separate gases evolved in the electrolytic vessel.
