An electrolyzed water generator 1 according to the present invention is provided with: an electrolysis chamber 40; a first power feed element 41 and a second power feed element 42, to which a direct current voltage is applied; a diaphragm 43 which is arranged between the first power feed element 41 and the second power feed element 42, and which divides the electrolysis chamber 40 into a first electrode chamber 40a and a second electrode chamber 40b; a control unit 5 which switches the polarity of the first power feed element 41 to positive or negative, and which switches the polarity of the second power feed element 42 to negative or positive; a flow rate sensor 22 which detects the amount of water flow per unit time into the electrolysis chamber 40 on the negative electrode side; and a current detection means 44 which detects a direct current supplied to the first power feed element 41 and the second power feed element 42. The surfaces of the first power feed element 41 and the second power feed element 42 are formed of a hydrogen storage metal. The control unit 5 calculates the concentration of the hydrogen storage metal colloids on the basis of the direct current and the cumulative amount of water flow after switching of the polarity.
