Title:
ELECTROMAGNET WITH ROTATING CORE AND STATIONARY EXCITATION COIL AND GENERATOR USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/063661
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
An electromagnet comprises a statorionary excitation coil (13) being fed by DC current and which is wound on a bobbin (14). The bobbin (14) is loosely fit onto a rotatable iron core (10). This rotatable iron core (10) comprises at least two magnetic poles (N, S) protruding perpendicularly from its central portion. While rotating the iron core (10) the magnetic polarities of the poles (N,S) are not changing. Next to the poles (N,S) of the rotatable iron core (10) at least one stationary iron core (15) a copper wire coil (16) is positioned. An alternating current is induced in the coil (16) due to the rotating iron core (10) and the excitation coil (13). Such a synchronous generator works without slip rings and brushes.
