Abstract:
An electromagnetic brake capable of securing braking and preventing brake linings from being abnormally worn and an electric motor incorporating the electromagnetic brake, the electromagnetic brake (21) wherein a braking force is generated by pressing the brake linings (5) against an armature (7) and a side plate (6) with the pressing force of springs (8). The electromagnetic brake further comprises magnets (22) for attracting metal powder contained in worn powder discharged by the abrasion of a brake disc (4). Also, the electromagnetic brake is incorporated in the electric motor.
