In order to provide an electromagnetic brake with which abnormal noise occurring when the brake is released can be eliminated with a simple adjustment operation, this electromagnetic brake (1) has a yoke (2) in which an electromagnetic coil (5) is arranged, with an end disk (12) affixed to this yoke (2), and an armature disk (6) and an inner disk (13) which rotates by receiving the rotation of a hub (3) being arranged in a movable manner between the yoke and the end disk, and the armature disk (6) constantly pressed in the direction away from the end of the yoke (2). In addition, a retaining ring (17) that is integral with the inner disk (13) is arranged at the end-face side of the hub (3), an adjustment ring (18) into which a rotation transmission shaft can be inserted is screwed into this retaining ring (17), and the adjustment ring (18) and the hub (3) are formed with magnetic material. By means of this configuration, the most forward position of the inner disk (13) can be adjusted when the adjustment ring (18) is screwed into the retaining ring (17). Furthermore, the adjustment ring (18) is magnetized and drawn toward the magnetized hub (3), so the adjustment ring (18) and the inner disk (13) which is integral with the retaining ring (17) do not vibrate, so abnormal noise is not produced.
