Abstract:
This electromagnetic braking device comprises: an armature rotatably supported around an axis of a rotary shaft; a recessed groove formed in an annular shape with the rotary shaft as a center; a yoke that has a substantially cylindrical inner cylinder part formed radially inside the recessed groove and a substantially cylindrical outer cylinder part formed radially outside the recessed groove; and a coil that is provided inside the recessed groove and generates, when being electrified, a magnetic force to draw the armature toward the yoke, wherein a first facing surface of the armature, which faces the yoke, has a sliding surface that slides with the outer cylinder part of the yoke and a recessed part provided radially inside the sliding surface and recessed in a direction away from the yoke, and the inner peripheral edge part of a second facing surface facing the armature on the outer cylinder part and a third facing surface facing the armature on the inner cylinder part are provided to face the recessed part and are in a state of non-contact with the first facing surface.
