Abstract:
The proposed electromagnetic clutch comprises a driving and a driven clutch half (6 and 7 respectively) with annular concentric projections (20, 21) and recesses (12, 13) on abutting faces. The projections on the driving clutch half (6) are accommodated in the recesses of the driven clutch half (7) to form a working chamber (10) filled with a working medium. The proposed electromagnetic clutch also has a reservoir chamber (48) and a control system (40). The driven clutch half (7) comprises two components (18, 19) which are mounted in such a way that they can slide axially. The clutch is provided with gaskets in the form of disks (26, 27) and springs (25) mounted between the components of the driven clutch half (7) and driving clutch half (6). Apertures (30) are provided between the projections (20, 21) of the driven clutch half to allow the working chamber (10) to communicate with the reservoir chamber (48) between the components. The working medium used is a magnetisable suspension. The clutch is provided with fins.
