Abstract:
Provided is an electromagnetic contactor that makes it possible to reliably extinguish an arc by reliably preventing contact between an arc and sections other than the contact point of a fixed contact. The electromagnetic contactor is provided with a contact point device (100) comprising a pair of fixed contacts (111) and (112) that are arranged while maintaining a predetermined distance therebetween and a movable contact (130) that is arranged so as to be capable of contact with and separation from the pair of fixed contacts. An insulating cover (121) is mounted to the pair of fixed contacts (111) and (112), covers sections other than the contact point (118a) that comes into contact with the movable contact, and covers the inner surface of an insulating plate (105) that fixes and holds the fixed contacts (111) and (112).
