Abstract:
An electromagnetic damper 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention is equipped with a first tube member 111, a second tube member 121, a rod 123, multiple electromagnetic coils 113, a permanent magnet 125, and a short-circuiting circuit 130. The second tube member 121 is attached to the first tube member 111 and is configured so as to be displaceable in one axial direction with respect to the first tube member 111. The rod 123 extends in one axial direction and has one end secured to the second tube member 121. The multiple electromagnetic coils 113 are arranged inside the first tube member 111 or on the rod 123. The permanent magnet generates induced electromotive force in the multiple electromagnetic coils 113 by means of displacement relative to the multiple electromagnetic coils 113, and is arranged on the other component, that is, the rod 123 or inside the first tube member 111. The short-circuiting circuit 130 is connected to the multiple electromagnetic coils 113, and causes a short circuit between the terminals of the multiple electromagnetic coils 113.
