Abstract:

An electromagnetic drive type plunger pump of non-energizing feed-out type, comprising a cylinder (10), a plunger (20), a magnetic circuit exerting a chevron-shaped thrust, and a feed-out spring (50) exerting an energizing force on the plunger (20) in a feed-out stroke, wherein, in energized state, the plunger (20) is moved to suck fuel and accumulate an energy in the feed-out spring (50) and, in non-energized state, moved by the energizing force of the feed-out spring (50) to feed out the fuel, the feed-out spring (50) is set to a spring constant for generating an energizing force larger than the thrust in the initial area of the chevron-shaped thrust, and a second spring (60) exerting an energizing force on the feed-out spring (50) in the direction resisting the energizing force of the feed-out spring (50) in the range of at least the initial area to reduce the energizing force to less than the thrust, whereby an effective stroke can be increased to increase the feeding amount of fuel.
