Abstract:
An electromagnetic induction coupling apparatus which is suitable for a power feeding apparatus that supplies electric power to a spherical semiconductor (10) having a coil (11) on its surface through electromagnetic induction coupling with the coil, and/or for a data communication apparatus that transfers an information signal between the spherical semiconductor via the coil, is provided with a coil array (22) consisting of a plurality of coil elements (21) arranged two-dimensionally and symmetrically in the longitudinal and lateral directions, on a specified surface, and a magnetic field control unit (24) for changing the magnetic field direction in a region which is near the coil array and in which the spherical semiconductor is placed by controlling the polarity and phase of the magnetic field generated by each coil element constituting the coil array. A magnetic field that is normal to the coil plane of the coil array is generated by driving the coil elements in phase, while a magnetic field that is parallel to or tilted at a certain angle to the coil plane is generated by driving the paired coil elements, with the companions of each pair driven in opposite phase.
