Abstract:
An electromagnetic relay such that arc interruption capability is improved without an increase in size is desired. An electromagnetic relay according to the present invention is provided with: fixed contacts (16a, 16b); movable contacts (15a, 15b) that are movable relative to the fixed contacts; a pair of magnets (31a, 32a, 31b, 32b) disposed laterally of the fixed contacts and the movable contacts, with the magnetic pole faces of mutually opposite polarities spaced apart from and opposed to each other; and a pair of arc cooling plates (33a, 34a, 33b, 34b) disposed in a space between the magnetic pole faces, the arc cooling plates including first faces opposed to each other via a gap and second faces facing the magnetic pole face of one or the other of the magnets.
