Abstract:
An electromagnetic relay according to the present invention comprises a pair of fixed terminals, a movable contact piece, and a magnetic part. The pair of fixed terminals includes a fixed contact. The movable contact piece includes a movable contact disposed facing the fixed contact. The movable contact piece can move in a first direction in which the movable contact comes into contact with the fixed contact, and a second direction in which the movable contact separates from the fixed contact. The magnetic part generates a magnetic field for elongating an arc occurring between the fixed contact and the movable contact. One of either the pair of fixed terminals or the movable contact piece extends further in the elongation direction of the arc than the other of the pair of fixed terminals or the movable contact piece, and includes an elongated part through which the arc passes.
