Abstract:
Provided is an electromagnetic switch that can secure a stable operation by increasing the attractive force of an electromagnet unit by increasing the flux density between a mobile plunger and a magnetic yoke. The present invention is provided with: a pair of stationary terminals (111, 112) disposed in a stationary manner maintaining a predetermined spacing within a contact housing case (102); a mobile terminal (130) provided within the contact housing case in a manner able to contact and separate from the pair of stationary terminals; and an electromagnet unit (200) that causes the mobile terminal to contact and separate from the pair of stationary terminals. The electromagnet unit has: a magnetic yoke (201, 210) that encircles an excitation coil (208); a mobile plunger (215) that is disposed in a manner able to move through a through hole provided to the magnetic yoke and that has a pole-contact face that opposes the pole-contact face of the magnetic yoke; and a linking shaft (131) that links the mobile plunger and the mobile terminal. The pole-contact face of the mobile plunger is configured from an annular protrusion that increases the flux density at a width narrower than the opposing surface of the magnetic yoke.
