Abstract:

Disclosed is an electromagnetic wave absorber characterized by containing very fine carbon fibers showing negative magnetoresistive effect in a matrix in an amount of 0.01-20% by mass relative to the total mass of the absorber. By being added with a small amount of a loss material having high electromagnetic wave absorption capacity, the electromagnetic wave absorber can exhibit adequate electromagnetic wave absorbing properties without deteriorating characteristics of the matrix. In addition, this electromagnetic wave absorber has high shapability while being made of a low-cost composite material, and is useful as an electromagnetic wave absorber for the GHz band.
