Abstract:
This invention provides an electromagnetic wave shielding material, which simultaneously has high electromagnetic wave shielding properties and high infrared shielding properties, and, further, a process for producing an electromagnetic wave shielding material, which is easy to form a hairline image and can produce an electromagnetic wave shielding material in a rapid and simple manner, and an electromagnetic wave shielding material for a plasma display panel using the electromagnetic wave shielding material. The electromagnetic wave shielding material comprises a support and an electrically conductive metal layer provided on the support and is characterized in that at least one of the following requirements is satisfied: (a) a porosity of the electrically conductive metal layer of not less than 0.1% and not more than 15%, (b) a gloss of the surface of the electrically conductive metal layer of not less than 50% and not more than 300%, and (c) a center line average roughness (Ra) of the surface of the electrically conductive metal layer of not less than 1 nm and not more than 50 nm.
