Abstract:

An electromechanical system for selecting weights in a weight tower of a workout station has a vertical hollow rod (10) attached to the slide (6) that is attached to the steel cable (8) for lifting the unit weight plates (4), extends through central holes in these plates and through the top wall of the tower base (3), which is hollow. The rod (10) comprises a rotating shaft or screw (14) that moves the weight selector up and down, is mounted on the rod (10) by roller bearings (15), extends downwards beyond the roller bearings, and has at the end thereof radial teeth (21) that mesh with protrusions in a round rabbet (25) of a pulley (24) mounted in a roller bearing (23) that has an axis (22) co-linear to the rod (10) and is secured to the underside of the base (3). The pulley has a groove for a belt (27) actuated by an electric motor (32) attached to the base (3). At the point where the rod (10) extends through the top wall of the base (3), the rod (10) has a round rabbet (16) into which a tongue (17) that is urged into the rabbet (16) by a spring (19) is fitted and can be released by a cam (18) that can be pulled by a linear electromechanical actuator (20), with a sensor (34) that indicates the position of the tongue (17). The pulley (24) comprises a disk (28) with undercuts (29) for actuating a sensor (30) attached to the base (3) by a holder (31).
