Description:
ELECTROMEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE TREATMENT OF SKIN AGING AND PATHOLOGICAL AREAS OF THE HUMAN BODY

BACKGROUND ART A magnet is a body that generates a magnetic field.

The name derives from the Greek magnήthV liqoV (magnetes lithos), that is "Magnesia stone", from the name of a place of Asia Minor, known since ancient times for the huge deposits of magnetite. A magnetic field is invisible to the human eye, but its effects are well known: it moves ferromagnetic materials such as iron and makes two magnets attract or repel .

Magnets have been used since ancient times to cure human ailments .

In fact, they were used to treat toothache, headaches and joint pain .

It is accepted and known that the north pole of a magnet has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

The south pole has stimulating properties.

Stable field magnetic therapy has developed a lot, especially in India where it is still used in common medical practice.

In the West, stable magnetic field therapy is little known and is used as an alternative therapy by a few operators.

In the West, pulsed magnetotherapy or PEMF has become much more established .

This practice, in the different methods of application, has proven capable of accelerating the healing processes of fractures and other slow-resolution pathologies.

Electrotherapy has been used for centuries in the treatment of many diseases, for example at the beginning of the last century it was also used in infectious and oncological pathology.

The known electrotherapy techniques currently used are manifold: TENS or transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation, analgesic practice that acts by saturation of superficial painful nerve endings . Specialized personnel are required, the applications are long, repeated for several weeks, expensive, and sometimes not conclusive .

TECAR: electrotherapy technique for post-traumatic pathology that exploits the energy transfer with the principle of the oscillator with condenser, uses radio frequency alternating current that induces an alternating electric field in the tissues to be treated: this electro oscillation causes a deep thermal action that it is believed to facilitate symptomatic resolution.

Specialized personnel required, applications are long, repeated over several weeks, expensive, and sometimes poorly resolving. EMS : electro muscular stimulation, medical practice that through the administration of low frequency pulsed currents, cause a contraction of the treated muscles independent of the subject's will .

Specialized personnel are required, the applications are long, repeated for several weeks, expensive and sometimes not conclusive on the basic pathology.

It is useful in the spinal injury clinic to maintain the muscle tone of the paralyzed regions.

DIADYNAMICS : It is an antalgic electrotherapy as well as the TENS with which it shares the action on the sensitive nerve fibers, in order to raise the pain threshold and promote the release of endorphins .

Obsolete, it requires specialized personnel, the applications are long, repeated for several weeks, expensive and sometimes not conclusive .

IONTOPHORESIS: it is a widely used method that is used to convey ionic drugs within pathological areas of the human body. Needle- free puncture is called. It can be done with weak direct or galvanic currents or more recently with pulsed currents.

Fixed luminaires for use in specialist environments.

MASSAGE: intended as vibrational therapy or micromassage and is known to promote many repairing, energizing and rebalancing processes in many unsightly and pathological situations on a microvascular basis, currently it is obtained with the vibration of piezoelectric crystals activated by electrical pulsations.

They often use subsonic vibratory frequencies to practice micromassage . CAVITATION: obtained with piezoelectric crystals with which ultrasonic frequencies can be generated to obtain cavitation phenomena in the tissues .

VARIOUS DEVICES, even wearable, are capable of delivering multiple forms of physical therapy at the same time, but do not have the constructive structure necessary to effectively reproduce the effects of this invention, do not deliver sufficient powers, produce microsecond or narrow-pulse pulsed frequencies, unable to get the effect of the present electromedical equipment and due to the different configuration of the applicators, they cannot deliver a treatment according to the system adopted for this invention.

All these forms of therapy mentioned above are usually delivered separately and at different times with application times that can last for months .

Furthermore, at least five previously filed patents are cited below which have similar but not identical characteristics to the present invention:

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION The purpose of the present invention is to overcome the difficulties of the known techniques described above.

The equipment described in the patents mentioned above allows some, but not all, functions of this invention to be performed.

The reason for this impossibility is also and especially due to the innovative structure of the therapeutic applicator of this invention which is described below. The difficulties of the others are due to the fact that for each known technique mentioned above it is necessary to use a different equipment, also these equipment are bulky, often fixed, the therapeutic paths that can be carried out are long (even weeks of therapy are needed) , generally one machine is used at a time, they are expensive and inconvenient for the patient who must reach a specialized center in order to do them.

The object of the present invention is to overcome said disadvantages by providing an electromedical apparatus for the treatment of a pathological or unaesthetic anatomical region, having a simple structure, designed to simultaneously provide all the treatments described in the paragraph of known techniques with the possibility of regulating the methods to issue the therapeutic actions in all the ways foreseen by the known operating protocols of said methods.

Another advantage is given by the innovative structure of the applicator which also allows the pulsed or continuous iono- iontophoretic practice in both deep and superficial locations at the level of the most superficial skin and subcutaneous layers. The advantages of this invention also lie in the contained dimensions of the electromedical equipment.

This equipment is easily transportable.

It is easy to use, it is computerized, for many treatments it autonomously regulates the type of emissions to be delivered, the duration, the number of sessions that the patient has to do etc. It can interface with other diagnostic devices and is able to monitor the effects of the treatment while it is running.

The possibility to simultaneously use multiple therapeutic forms is the strength of this equipment: this feature makes the therapeutic process effective and rapid.

The use of one or more methods simultaneously, ie electrotherapy, magnetotherapy or PEMF, has shown, in preliminary studies, to be very effective in the treatment of multiple problems, from aesthetic medicine to the treatment of different pathologies. The present invention is specially designed to produce a newly developed therapeutic action which acts at a cellular level in the tissues.

Stable field magnetotherapy is known for its therapeutic capabilities . The healing power of the permanent magnet causes a decrease in inflammation, an increase in local pH, a vasodilation, an acceleration of the repair processes, a stimulation of the metabolic processes etc.

In this invention, stable field magnetotherapy is one of the therapeutic methods used, and is produced by means of two bipolar permanent metal magnets inserted innovatively one inside the other .

In this invention, according to the four possible position configurations between the first external permanent magnet and the second internal permanent magnet, four different therapeutic effects are obtained.

First permanent magnet towards north polar, second permanent magnet towards north polar: maximum sedating action, no focus. First permanent magnet towards north polar, second permanent magnet towards south polar peripheral sedative action, central stimulating action, circular sedative focus.

First permanent magnet towards south polar, second permanent magnet towards south polar: maximum stimulating action, no focus. First permanent magnet towards south polar, second permanent magnet towards north polar: stimulating peripheral action, central sedative action, stimulating circular focus.

The movement of the magnet over a pathological region increases these powers.

Traditionally this movement is performed manually by the therapist .

In this invention the movement is obtained also by the vibration induced by a piezoelectric transducer connected to these magnets. This vibration produced by the piezoelectric transducer generates an electrical induction by the magnets with a micro oscillation of the molecules, microstructures and cellular contingents in the tissues of the treated region.

The simultaneous vibration with micromassage transmitted to the tissues by the piezoelectric transducer through the magnets, allows a controlled and adjustable micro agitation of these structures so that they expose molecular regions, altered by the pathological process, to the action of the repair mechanisms both electrotherapeutic, both pharmacological or cosmetic with ionophoretic delivery, both magnetotherapy, with return to physiological conditions .

The extracellular matrix is also subject to these effects with micro-movement of metabolic toxins molecules and facilitation of their removal by the lymphatic flow.

This lymphatic flow is accentuated by this micromassage.

Electrotherapy is also used in this invention.

The action of electrotherapy can be carried out simultaneously with previous therapeutic energies .

This action is delivered with specific frequencies and waveforms that act synergistically and in concert, with the vibratory and electro-inductive delivery frequencies described above.

Depending on the polarity and frequencies used in the electrotherapeutic action, it is possible to induce an active transport of drugs or cosmetics, for the ionto-ionophoretic effect, in the region to be treated.

The electrotherapeutic action is mediated by the magnets themselves which become electrodes due to their conductive metallic nature.

An innovative form of electrical insulation and magnetic shielding between said two permanente magnets allows therapeutic effects extremely focused on the region to be treated.

The simultaneous administration of PEMF magnetotherapy obtained by the presence of a solenoid in the applicator accentuates the therapeutic action of the described energies and focuses it in a region close to the applicator, with adjustable extension and depth .

The resulting therapeutic framework is very effective.

Said electromedical equipment can also regulate its functions based on the real-time detection of the responses of the treated tissues during therapeutic application.

Said electromedical equipment can also regulate its functions based on the reception of data sent by different diagnostic equipment applied to the patient and interfaced with said equipment, for example ECG, EEG, blood pressure, oximetry etc. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In order to better understand the operation and structure of this invention, figures have been produced by way of example and not for limitation.

Microsensors can be positioned on the external face 28 to monitor the effects of the treatment in real time.

Said electromedical equipment is able, when in operation, to produce at least seven curative effects. A first effect is produced by the two permanent magnets 19 and 26 with the known effects of stable field magnetotherapy: said effects are different according to the arrangement of the magnetic polarities of said permanent magnets in the configurations described above.

A second effect is produced by the vibration of said permanent magnets 19 and 26 induced by the action of said piezoelectric transducer 33.

This vibration amplifies the previous effect and generates a further third effect of alternating electric induction in the treated tissues, with corresponding frequency at the vibratory frequency of said piezoelectric transducer 33.

Said alternating electroinduction also causes a third vibrational oscillatory effect of the microcomponents of the problematic tissues which being ionic dipoles resonate in a similar way to liquid crystals .

This vibration exposes these molecules to better receive the third therapeutic, electrotherapy or iontoionophoretic action. A fourth effect is that generated by the administration of electric current through said first magnet 19 and said second magnet 26.

Said current in all forms of delivery, pulsed or continuous, in the first execution mode previously described, has depth levels and extension of the therapeutic action on the basis of the regulation of the signal emission proportions between said first magnet 19 and said second magnet 26.

Said action is finely adjustable for the electrical insulation and magnetic shielding produced by the presence of said high metal tube magnetic permeability 24, inserted in the insulation between said first and said second magnet.

The electrotherapeutic action in the second mode described above is active in the most superficial layers of the skin.

A fifth effect is obtained by delivering a drug or a cosmetic in the tissues by means of the ionto-ionophoretic function.

This function acts with an extension, a depth and focus identical to those described above for the electrotherapy action.

A sixth effect is obtained by the emission of a magnetic field of various nature from said solenoid 18 wound to said first magnet 19. Said solenoid 18 is generically assigned to the delivery of PEMF therapy, but its action is also of local harmonization of the above said effects.

This occurs due to the presence of said first magnet 19 and second magnet 26 which function here as a central core of an electromagnet .

A seventh effect is obtained with the vibration of said piezoelectric transducer 33 fixed to all the components described above .

In this case, micromassage, thermogenesis, cavitation or lysis effects are obtained by delivering the third signal frequencies and waveforms to said transducer 33 generated by the central unit

1.

The treatment protocols that can be performed by said electromedical equipment are all those known in the literature for each type of existing therapeutic action and these are referred to in the execution of the treatments .

Said protocols being completely programmable through logic unit 5, are practically infinite.

The execution of the common standard protocols can be carried out simply by recalling these protocols from the memory of the logical unit 5, being stored in the software and hardware of said central unit 1.

The electrotherapy and iontoionophoretic treatments are innovative with the first and second treatment modalities described above.

The frequencies supplied by central unit 1 and addressed to UF components, in many applications, preferibily must have the number of Hertz related to each other based on the Phi or golden number .

The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that variations and / or modifications may be made by those skilled in the art without thereby departing from the relative scope of protection, such as defined by the attached claims .
