Abstract:
Provided is an electron beam sterilization apparatus (1) which includes a plurality of electron beam radiation devices (2) and which sterilizes a subject to be sterilized (D) with electron beams (E) emitted from the electron beam radiation devices (2). The electron beam sterilization apparatus (1) includes a relative movement means (10) that moves the subject to be sterilized (D) relative to the plurality of electron beam radiation devices (2). The electron beam (E) emitted from at least one of the plurality of electron beam radiation devices (2) has an effective sterilization range (A) greater than or equal to a predetermined radiation dosage which is capable of sterilizing a cold spot (C) of the subject to be sterilized (D). The effective sterilization range (A) is larger than the cold spot (C) and is sized to fit within the subject to be sterilized (D). At least one of the plurality of electron beam radiation devices (2) is arranged at a position at which the cold spot (C) of the subject to be sterilized (D) undergoing relative movement passes through the inside of the effective sterilization range (A) of the electron beam (E) thereof.
