Title:
ELECTRON GUN, CATHODE-RAY TUBE AND PROJECTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/073649
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A cathode-ray tube having an electron gun for emitting a plurality of electron beams to scan different positions, in witch the velocities of these electron beams can be separately modulated. The cathode-ray tube is provided with a first velocity modulating coil (9) for generating a magnetic field H¿1? to exert a force F¿1? on a first electron beam I¿1? and a second velocity modulating coil (10) for generating a magnetic field H¿2? to exert a force F¿2? different from the force F¿1? on a second electron beam I¿2?. In the cathode-ray tube, the sharpness of the picture can be improved without deteriorating the quality of the picture by modulating the velocities of the electron beams I¿1? and I¿2? separately. A projector having such a cathode-ray tube, the luminance can be improved, and the sharpness of the picture can be improved without deteriorating the quality of the picture.
