Abstract:
The objective of this invention is to prevent a decrease in the brilliance of an electron beam when an emission current is changed. The electron gun comprises a cathode (111) for emitting a thermal electron, a Wehnelt electrode (112) for focusing the thermal electron, a control electrode (113) for drawing the thermal electron from the forward end of the cathode (111), an anode (114) whereby the thermal electron is accelerated and irradiated as an electron beam onto a powder, and an optimal conditions collection control means (105) that changes at least any one among the bias voltage applied to the Wehnelt electrode (112) and the control electrode voltage applied to the control electrode (113) in order to determine a combination of the bias voltage and the control electrode voltage for which the brilliance of the electron beam forms a peak.
