Abstract:
Disclosed are an electronic brake system and a method for operating same An electronic brake system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a reservoir in which pressure medium is stored; a consolidated master cylinder comprising a simulation piston, a master piston, and an elastic member provided therebetween; a reservoir channel connecting the consolidated master cylinder and reservoir; a hydraulic pressure supplying apparatus for generating hydraulic pressure by activating a hydraulic pressure piston by means of electrical signals produced in response to the displacement of a brake pedal; a first hydraulic pressure circuit provided with two wheel cylinders; and a second hydraulic pressure circuit provided with two other wheel cylinders, and the electronic brake system may also comprise a hydraulic pressure control unit for controlling the hydraulic pressure transmitted to the first and second hydraulic pressure circuits, and an electronic control unit for controlling the valves on the basis of hydraulic pressure data and brake pedal displacement data.
