An electronic cigarette, and a method for identifying an atomizer by a battery rod of the electronic cigarette. The electronic cigarette comprises a battery rod and an atomizer. A connection structure used for connecting the battery rod and the atomizer is disposed in a connection position of the battery rod and the atomizer. The connection structure comprises a first connection piece and a second connection piece. The first connection piece is a lock structure provided with a key hole (212), the second connection piece is a key structure provided with an unlocking portion (111), and the unlocking portion (111) is fitted to the key hole (212). The lock structure provided with the key hole (212) or the key structure provided with the unlocking portion (111) is separately disposed in the connection position of the battery rod and the atomizer, so that a structure fit relationship between the atomizer and the battery rod is a one-to-one correspondence, and only the battery rod fitted to the atomizer can be used, so that another fake product is prevented from being inserted for use, thereby improving the user experience.
