Title:
ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT COMPONENT AUTHENTICITY DETERMINATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/014623
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method of determining the authenticity of an electronic circuit component that is capable of determining whether something is manufactured by a legitimate manufacturer of electronic circuit components. [Solution] When an electronic circuit component is manufactured, the electronic circuit component is made to operate under prescribed conditions. The waveform of either the power consumption or an electromagnetic wave during the operation is measured and stored as first waveform data. An electronic circuit component subject to determination of authenticity is made to operate under conditions identical to the prescribed conditions. The waveform of either the power consumption or an electromagnetic wave during the operation is measured and temporarily stored as second waveform data. The stored first waveform data and the second waveform data are compared. If the data match, the electronic circuit component subject to determination of authenticity is determined to be genuine, and if the data differ, the electronic circuit component subject to determination of authenticity is determined to be a fake.
