Abstract:

This electronic component supply device (3) comprises: a plurality of feeders (601, 602, 603), each having an individual control unit (65) operated by a piece of operating software (655) and controlling a tape feeding mechanism; an upper level control unit (51) capable of holding pieces of update software (SW1, SW2, SW3) replacing at least a portion of each piece of operating software; and a plurality of information transmission units (521, 522, 523) connected in such a manner as to be capable of transmitting information between the upper level control unit and each individual control unit of each of the plurality of feeders, and transmitting the pieces of update software from the upper level control unit to each of the individual control units independently from one another. This allows the plurality of information transmission units to transmit the pieces of update software to different feeders in parallel in time, allowing the update time to be shortened significantly compared to if the pieces of update software are transmitted to the plurality of feeders sequentially.
