Abstract:

An electronic control device comprises: a control unit (2); a plurality of power supply units (1-1, 1-2) which supply power to the control unit (2); and a power abnormality detection unit (3) which detects abnormalities in the plurality of power supply units (1-1, 1-2). When there are no abnormalities in any of the plurality of power supply units (1-1, 1-2), the control unit (2) operates in a normal mode which is operated by means of electricity supplied from the plurality of power supply units (1-1, 1-2); and when there is an abnormality in at least one of the plurality of power supply units (1-1, 1-2), the control unit (2) operates in an energy saving mode which has a low electricity consumption and which is operated by electricity supplied from the remaining normal power supply unit. Thus, the electronic control system can continue operation during break-down, and restricts an increase in circuit scale, dimensions, weight and costs.
