Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electronic control device that ensures safety and improves performance when performing necessary route planning computations using speculative execution, in driving assistance technology and automatic driving technology. This electronic control device has: a plurality of computation units which perform control computations on the basis of at least one external input, the plurality of computation units having a first computation unit for a case where safety requirements are not met in regards to safety, and a second computation unit for a case where the safety requirements are met; a first prediction unit and a second prediction unit which, on the basis of control computation results output from the first computation unit and the second computation unit, predict a future state of a control target; an evaluation unit which evaluates safety in regards to the control computation results of the first computation unit and the second computation unit, on the basis of a quantity which represents the future state of the control target; and a selection unit which, on the basis of the evaluation results by the evaluation unit, selects from the control computation results a result which satisfies the safety requirements, and outputs the selected result as the computation result of the electronic control device.
