Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to implement an electronic control device wherein a computation processing unit has a self-diagnostic function capable of identifying not only the presence or absence of occurrence of a no-good (NG) state of disconnection, ground fault, or a power supply fault but also three NG, OK, and undefined states. To this end, if there is a chance of diagnosis, a mask signal maintains a Not Mask state even if a masked state is subsequently adopted, and when a drive circuit 108 is requested to perform communication by a computation processing device 106, the mask signal is brought to a Mask state, and information stored in a register 120 is cleared. Further, if the mask signal is in the Mask state when the computation processing device 106 communicates with the drive circuit 108, the computation processing device 106 can recognize an undefined state in which there was no chance of diagnosis.
