Abstract:
This electronic control device is equipped with: a peripheral obstacle identification unit which is installed in a vehicle and identifies an obstacle present in the periphery of the vehicle on the basis of a sensor mounted in the vehicle; a blind spot region identification unit which identifies a blind spot region which is not included in the detection range of the peripheral obstacle identification unit; a region determination unit which classifies the blind spot region as a dangerous blind spot region where an obstacle could be present or as a safe blind spot region where no obstacle is present; and an obstacle region presumption unit for presuming there is an obstacle-containing region, which is a region which could currently contain a potential obstacle, which is an obstacle which potentially could have been present earlier in a previously classified dangerous blind spot region. Therein, the region determination unit determines that regions where at least the obstacle-containing regions and the blind spot regions identified by the blind spot region identification unit overlap one another are dangerous blind spot regions.
