Abstract:
This electronic device comprises a transmission antenna that transmits transmission waves, a reception antenna that receives reflected waves resulting from the reflection of the transmission waves, a control unit that controls the radiation pattern of the transmission waves, and a signal processing unit that detects an object on the basis of the transmission signal transmitted as the transmission waves and the reception signal received as the reflected waves. The control unit carries out control such that when transmission waves are transmitted multiple times in a prescribed unit, the transmission waves include at least one transmission wave having a modified radiation pattern. The signal processing unit outputs an object detection result on the basis of clusters, from among a plurality of clusters obtained by clustering the results of multiple object detections, for which at least a prescribed number of representative points of other clusters are within a prescribed distance of the representative points of each of the clusters.
