Abstract:
An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device comprises a microphone, a communication interface comprising circuitry, and a processor for controlling the communication interface to: enter a voice recognition mode, if a trigger word is identified to be included in a first sound signal received via the microphone; identify, on the basis of the strength of the first sound signal, a gain value for adjusting the strength of the first sound signal to be within a preset strength range; adjust, on the basis of the identified gain value, the strength of a second sound signal received via the microphone in the voice recognition mode; and transmit, to an external device, a user command acquired on the basis of voice recognition for the adjusted second sound signal.
