Disclosed are an electronic device and a control method therefor. The electronic device of the present disclosure may detect an abnormal object by using 3D modeling of a region where a user is located, on the basis of a 2D color image and a depth image, or detect an abnormal object approaching the user by generating a virtual background corresponding to the region where the user is located.
