Title:
ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR DETECTING LOCATION BY USING GEOMAGNETIC DATA, AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/140656
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed are an electronic device for detecting a location by using geomagnetic data, and a control method therefor. The electronic device for detecting a location by using geomagnetic data, according to one embodiment of the present document, comprises a geomagnetic sensing module, memory, and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to: acquire, from the geomagnetic sensing module, first geomagnetic data for a first area sensed by using the geomagnetic sensing module; model the acquired first geomagnetic data into a polynomial determined on the basis of an attribute of the first area; configure at least one second area to which the modeled polynomial will be applied; estimate a plurality of geomagnetic patterns for the at least one second area by using the modeled polynomial; perform, for each of the plurality of estimated geomagnetic patterns, a calculation for correcting an angle error related to the moving direction of the electronic device, in order to acquire a plurality of reference geomagnetic patterns and store same in the memory; and determine whether the electronic device is located in the first area, on the basis of a statistical value determined by using the plurality of acquired reference geomagnetic patterns.
